| | ⚖️ Learn More: Prop 1 in Practice |
| |
|
| Learn more about the challenges and opportunities that Prop 1 presents for our industry. Join NPH and a panel of experts remotely on Wednesday, April 9 from 12-1PM for Prop 1 from a Practitioner Perspective, a meeting-style NPH Training to learn about exciting potential new developments that have applied for Prop 1 funds and some of the challenges in accessing those same opportunities. We will also discuss possibilities for the remaining funds available. |
| | What’s Prop 1? Last year California voters passed Proposition 1 to develop an array of behavioral health treatment, residential care settings, and supportive housing to help provide appropriate care facilities for individuals experiencing mental health and substance use disorders. Since passing, the California Departments of Health Care Services and Housing and Community Development have collectively issued funding availability announcements for over $5 billion representing over 80% of the total Proposition 1 bond funds. |

| | 💼 New Affordable Housing Reports from The Partnership |
| |
|
| California Housing Partnership has recently released two reports that identify key policy solutions to help house our neighbors throughout California: - The Partnership and Enterprise recently released the Affordable Housing & Sustainable Communities (AHSC) Program Impact Report, which underlines the fact that investing in AHSC is a key and lasting strategy to meet the state’s climate change, affordability, and equity goals.
- Last week, The Partnership released their latest California State Housing Needs Report, which highlights that Californians need to earn 2.8x the minimum wage to afford average rent across the state, while the state is only funding 15% of what is needed to meet its housing production goals. The report also offers policy solutions to help bring low-income Californians into affordable homes.
