A people-powered victory!
Dear John,
What an incredible victory for Wisconsin last night! We gave a resoundingly clear message to Elon Musk and Donald Trump last night that our votes can't be bought. With Judge Susan Crawford's overwhelming win, we have solidified a court that will defend our democracy, uphold Wisconsin’s constitution, enforce environmental laws, and push back against extremist agendas.
Thanks so much for all you did to make this win possible!
Your support and volunteer hours made it possible for Wisconsin Conservation Voters IEC to knock on nearly 130,000 doors across the state, send handwritten postcards to over 21,000 voters (a HUGE thanks to our nearly 500 volunteers!) , and run digital ads highlighting how former Attorney General Brad Schimel prioritized politics and polluters over the people of Wisconsin. Overall, we spent over $1.3 million to make sure the Wisconsin Supreme Court will hold the line against attacks on our voting rights and hold polluters accountable.
Ultimately, I think Elon Musk's outrageous and unethical activities in this race – like attempting to buy votes with million dollar checks - backfired. Voters don't want billionaires buying our elections, and, yesterday, we made that crystal clear. My hope is this win gives our allies in Congress and our partners around the country the fuel to fight back against Donald Trump and Elon Musk and continue the fight to save our democracy everywhere in this country.
