Fellow activist,
We wanted to express our deepest gratitude for your support last quarter. After a massive win in Wisconsin Tuesday night, as Susan Crawford defeated her Trump and Musk-backed opponent, Pennsylvania is next on the docket for having a critical and expensive Supreme Court race, and we will need all the help we can get.
We also wanted to share some incredible news.
Last week, there were two special elections in PA. Here are the results: Democrats maintained control of the state House by a single seat and surprisingly flipped a seat in the PA Senate. As reported by WTAE Pittsburgh, "Democrat Dan Goughnour handily won a special election in western Pennsylvania.” He beat Republican Chuck Davis in a district in the Mon Valley region southeast of Pittsburgh.
In the special election for Senate District 36, Mayor James Andrew Malone (D) defeated his Republican opponent in the GOP-leaning Lancaster County by just 480 votes. According to Spotlight PA, that district has not elected a Democrat since the 1980s.
Here’s the thing: The affiliated organization New PA Project Education Fund worked to register 1,300 people to vote in Lancaster County over the past 12 months. This hard work helped to make the difference.
These special elections once again prove that PA is a critical swing state, but with so much at stake, we cannot afford to lose momentum. Will you consider chipping in a donation to support our programs today?
Thank you,
Team NPP
