Hi there,
Spring has finally arrived and we in DC are like young shoots struggling to break out of the cold hard ground of a hostile Congressional season. If you have a voting Representative in the House, please tell them to restore DC's budget!
Coming together in solidarity, community and purpose is one thing I feel we could all use right now. So come hang out with GGWash next month!
We're having our annual Spring Gala on Tuesday, April 29th. It's a big deal in terms of fundraising for the work we do and we do so love seeing all our people in one place. We will continue to work together to ensure that our future is a bright one, in spite of current circumstances. If this event isn't in your budget, we have ways help make sure you can participate! Go to the ticket page to learn more.
Also, don't miss in a couple weeks, our own Dan Reed will be moderating a panel discussion after a viewing of FAULT LINES: Inside the Housing Crisis, a documentary on the housing crises in the United States through the lens of San Francisco. The screening is Wednesday, April 9th, at The Miracle Theatre in DC.

DC Film Screening: FAULT LINES: Inside the Housing Crisis
Wednesday, April 9, 6:00pm–8:00pm The Miracle Theatre, 535 8th St SE, DC
It is our pleasure to invite you to an exclusive screening of FAULT LINES: Inside the Housing Crisis, a groundbreaking new documentary from filmmakers Nate Houghteling (American Pathogen, State of Pride) and Yoav Attias (Brick City, Chicagoland). View the film, then join Senator Brian Schatz (D-HI), Representative Laura Friedman (CA 30th District), Atlantic housing reporter Jerusalem Demsas, and Arnold Ventures’ Charlie Anderson for a panel discussion moderated by Dan Reed from Greater Greater Washington.
An official selection of the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, Fault Lines examines the battle for affordable housing in the United States through the lens of San Francisco. The film takes a street-level approach to the intersecting issues of housing affordability, homelessness, and local laws, using human stories to illuminate the impact of decades of policies that are now choking the Bay Area – and quickly becoming a national emergency.

Join us at the Greater Greater Washington Spring Gala, our annual “prom” celebrating the work we do together to strengthen our region. Every day, we’re working toward the vision of this region as a place where housing is abundant and affordable and it’s safe and easy to get around without a car; a region where land use, housing, and transportation decisions advance racial, social, and environmental justice. Now more than ever, we’re committed to advancing progress at the local and state levels.
Let’s come together as a community to celebrate local and state-level progress and remind ourselves that so many of us are working together to make the Washington region greater. Early bird tickets end April 10th! Buy yours here. |
