Team,
Today is the reconvened session in VA, where legislators will consider bills that Governor Youngkin has returned with his proposed changes.
On the docket: Contraception.
As a reminder, this Act would have protected the right of people to use and doctors to prescribe contraception, including birth control pills, IUDs, emergency contraceptives, and more. However, Governor Youngkin decided to completely gut the legislation.
Today, lawmakers have the power to accept his gutted version or reinstate the original language and send it back to the Governor for his signature. Thanks in part to your support in helping us elect pro-choice legislators in 2023, we expect them to reject his changes today.
No politician should dictate whether or not a person is able to access contraception. The people of Virginia deserve better.
We are so grateful for your support. Now, we have an urgent request: Governor Youngkin will have one last chance to do the right thing and protect access to birth control. Help support our work to advocate for this to happen by pitching in $25 or more today →
