Just recently, I joined 10 other attorneys general in urging the U.S. Supreme Court to recognize the individual rights of Medicaid patients to seek care from the qualified providers they choose, including Planned Parenthood.
Over one million of our friends, coworkers, and neighbors rely on Medicaid for health care, including for key reproductive health services like health screenings and birth control. I firmly believe that everyone should have the freedom to choose their own providers, including Planned Parenthood.
I’ve spent my career fighting relentlessly to protect reproductive freedom, and as Attorney General, I’ve been on the front lines fighting these battles in court. And as your Governor, I’ll keep up the fight. Our rights are on the line, and I won’t back down.

The Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision created chaos and anxiety for people seeking to make their own decisions about their bodies and their health care. It’s resulted in dire and even deadly consequences, as doctors have confronted barriers to providing life-saving health care.
But in Colorado, I made it clear we would continue to safeguard access to reproductive care, and we would stand against the persistent and cruel attempts to control women’s bodies and erode personal freedoms. And that’s exactly what I’ve done:
* I enforced Colorado’s Reproductive Health Equity Act to protect the fundamental right to abortion and reproductive care when local governments tried to impose bans;
* I championed laws to shield patients and doctors in Colorado from legal attacks by states where abortion is restricted or banned;
* I challenged the FDA in court to fight restrictions on mifepristone, a critical reproductive health care medication; and
* I fought for an amendment to Colorado’s state constitution that protects access to reproductive health care.
I am committed to preserving and defending reproductive rights in Colorado. But this fight is far from over.
Extremists won’t stop their attempts to roll back our rights, but as long as I’m in office, I’ll keep standing up for Colorado. As your next Governor, I’ll fight to make sure no one interferes with your personal health care decisions.
