It’s official: We’ll be facing Republican Jim Bognet in November, and the General Election starts today.

I have been proud to represent Northeastern Pennsylvania’s priorities in Congress. I work across the aisle whenever I can, but put my foot down and stand up for our values when I can’t. My guiding principle has been to fight for the working people of this district, and always, always put Main Street before Wall Street.

But Jim Bognet doesn’t see it that way. He just emerged triumphant in a Republican primary that was all about scrambling to see who could show the most loyalty to Donald Trump. Personally, my loyalty is to Scranton, to Wilkes-Barre, to Hazleton, to Milford, to Honesdale, to Mount Pocono, and all the people in our district who just want a fair shake at the American dream.

Even Republicans know Jim Bognet doesn’t have Northeastern Pennsylvania’s best interests at heart. One of Bognet’s own GOP opponents said, “[Bognet] flew into this district with his dark money Super PAC and bought the election plain and simple.” And he’s going to try to do it again in the General Election, no doubt about it!

And here’s the dark truth: Jim Bognet’s loyalty to Donald Trump is going to get him access to some big wallets. That’s why I’m asking you to help me kick off my General Election campaign with a surge of grassroots power. I’ve been attacked by dark money PACs, Republican powerhouse organizations, and GOP VIPs both in and out of our district. I’m still standing today because of you, John. And if I win re-election and keep this seat blue in November, it’ll be because of you too.
