Wisconsin just elected a new Supreme Court Justice.

Friend –

Last night Susan Crawford was elected to serve as the next justice for the state Supreme Court.

While we saw an outpouring of money thrown into this race by billionaires, the people who had the real power in this election were Wisconsin voters. We are so proud that Wisconsin voters realized the high stakes of the election, and turned out, sending a loud and clear message – that Wisconsinites' votes are not for sale. Wisconsin voters made their voices heard in this incredibly important Supreme Court election that will shape the future of Wisconsin.

During this election cycle, our organization worked together with the National ACLU to ensure that Wisconsinites knew the facts about the candidates, as well as the critical role the court plays in shaping our civil rights and civil liberties. We knocked on doors, made phone calls, educated Wisconsinites, and launched a campaign to make sure Wisconsinites were prepared to vote for their values this election. We reached over 600,000 voters.

Judging by the outcome of this election, it is clear that access to abortion, protecting Wisconsin's workers, and making sure Wisconsinites can fairly cast their ballot were all priorities for Wisconsinites.

We are grateful for the thousands of supporters and members of the ACLU of Wisconsin who make this work possible. We will continue to defend the civil liberties and civil rights of all Wisconsinites. Let's stay in the fight together.

Sincerely,

ACLU of Wisconsin
