Dear John,
Day of Empathy — the nation’s largest day of action for criminal justice reform, unites communities from across the country to demand a more just and equitable legal system. The Pennsylvania Day of Empathy is just around the corner, and we want to see you there.
This year, in Pennsylvania, we’re focusing on the Fair Future Act and the importance of restoring fair housing protections to people with a drug distribution conviction. With discussions on the Fair Future Act featuring dynamic speakers, and a luncheon at the State Capital, this is a day you won’t want to miss.
Our Empathy Network Leader:
This year’s Day of Empathy will be led by Pennsylvania’s Empathy Network leader Yusuf Dahl. As a teenager, Yusuf operated a network of drug houses before being sentenced to prison for 10 ½ years. After his imprisonment, he became a real estate investor and affordable housing advocate. Currently, he serves as the CEO of the Century Promise and is leading the national effort to repeal the Thurmond Amendment.
