Fellow Conservative,

There is an ever-increasing amount of turmoil in this world, but change doesn’t come from the top down.

Change occurs through developing personal relationships with others, supporting families, strengthening our churches and civic communities, and many times, through our elected representatives.

And now, more than ever, America needs strong conservative voices at every level of society and government.

That’s why Heritage Action is committed to supporting conservative grassroots activists through our Sentinel Program.

Watch to learn more about the Sentinel Program and why you should be a part of it.

Last month, over 100,000 Americans signed Heritage Action’s petition to Open American Society. While some governors refused to listen for far too long, every state has now started to reopen, bringing 2.5 million Americans back to work in May.

In a statement on Friday, Executive Director Jessica Anderson emphasized the importance of reopening:

While some in Congress think that runaway federal spending led to this increase, the credit goes to the states and policies that help preserve the employer-employee relationship. Instead of pushing for more misdirected federal stimulus, the nation should focus on what works. We have to keep pushing to reopen states further and bring more Americans back to work — the fight isn’t over.

Thanks to all who signed the petition, wrote op-eds, educated neighbors, and forced our elected representatives to focus on this issue. This is a perfect example of how grassroots activists can make a difference in government and the lives of our fellow citizens.

In March, President Trump nominated Russell Vought to be the Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).

This past week, Vought testified before two different Senate committees as part of the confirmation process.

In support of his confirmation, Jessica Anderson, Executive Director of Heritage Action, had this to say:
I have had the privilege of working with Russ firsthand, both at the OMB and Heritage Action… I know he is committed to work for the American people and to enact the President’s priorities across the administration. From Heritage Action to the White House, Russ has led the charge against government waste and cumbersome red tape. He has consistently fought against fiscal insanity in the federal budget — that fight is more important now than ever.

Last week, Heritage Action added the co-sponsorship of the ALIGN Act to our scorecard. Since then, 29 additional representatives have co-sponsored the bill. This is how we build momentum and support for sound policy!

The ALIGN Act would allow businesses to expense the full cost of infrastructure improvements—like updating old buildings or purchasing new machinery or equipment—on their current year’s tax returns. This is a pro-growth policy that incentivizes investment in American jobs.

By encouraging investment in manufacturing and equipment, businesses would stimulate the economy and accelerate our recovery from the coronavirus pandemic.

Thank you for your commitment to conservatism!
