Hi, Thank you for joining the campaign! I’m thrilled to have you on the team. Let me tell you a little about myself. I was born in Ecuador and moved to the United States when I was 14. Now, I’m proud to be the first South American-born member of the United States Congress. When I was 19, I lost my father to gun violence. It was a devastating event that changed me forever. Later in life, watching families suffer as mine did because of senseless gun violence motivated me to turn that pain into action. Now, I’m working hard in Congress to bring about common-sense gun violence protection. This issue is important to me. What’s important to you? Can you take this quick survey and share your top cares and concerns with me? I’ve also prioritized immigration reform and environmental legislation since I arrived in Congress. Almost half of my district is like me and was not born in the United States but decided to make it their home. I fight for them. I’ve also worked with environmental non-profits and I am an avid scuba diver. Our oceans and coral reefs are the crown jewel of our district -- I fight for them as well. What do you fight for? Tell me your priorities by taking this survey. We need profound and systemic changes that lift up hardworking Americans. Right now, the system only works for a very small few. We deserve better, and that’s what I’m fighting for in Congress. Now, I want to hear from you. Let me know what moves you to action or what keeps you up at night. Thank you, Debbie Mucarsel-Powell Paid for by Debbie for Congress |
