As of today, every bakery in Gaza has closed down. There is simply
no flour to produce bread, and no fuel available to power the
bakeries. Since the U.S.-Israeli genocide began in 2023, Palestinians
in Gaza have lived on the brink of starvation. The bakeries helped
provide the bare minimum to hold off death by hunger at a massive
scale, but they have now collapsed under the weight of the suffocating
Israeli siege.
Since the genocide resumed in March, Israel has not allowed any
humanitarian aid to enter Gaza. The area has been completely cut off
from the outside world. In addition to the closure of the bakeries,
the United Nations' World Food Program announced that within two days
it would run out of food to distribute. Mass starvation and
Palestinian death on an unprecedented scale may follow.
This is the moment when people of conscience need to gather in huge
numbers. Join people from all across the country in Washington, DC at
1:00 p.m. at Pennsylvania Ave NW and 3rd Street SW to make your voice
heard!
