The Trump Administration just cut tens of millions of dollars in funding for Planned Parenthood.

Let me be clear — this isn’t just about politics or coming after abortion access. This is about women’s lives and health care.

Planned Parenthood was founded in New York over a century ago and has provided care for women across the country since then, no matter their age, sexual orientation, income, or race. From providing contraception to performing cancer screenings, Planned Parenthood provides critical care for women across the country.

Depriving women of access to facilities like Planned Parenthood is a direct affront to their rights — and women’s lives will be at risk as a result. Healthcare costs will increase, and facilities will be harder to access.

I’ve continued to make New York a beacon for women’s rights and reproductive freedoms. I’ve protected doctors from extradition for providing abortion care and expanded access to reproductive health care.

I will continue to stand up for women’s rights, especially when they are under attack by anti-choice leaders in Washington. Will you pitch in to help me keep up the fight for New York women?
