Too many Oregonians and Americans are still struggling to pay their bills and put food on the table, but Donald Trump's trade wars and threats to Social Security are continuing to wreak havoc on the economy.

Oregonians need more affordable housing. We should be investing in infrastructure and making child care and health care more affordable. But this is all at risk with Trump's opaque and harmful agenda. The uncertainty and constant attacks have left small business owners scrambling and consumers uncertain about what to do. As of today, it looks like we will be seeing higher prices on electricity, dairy products, steel, aluminum, cars, and electronics.

And now, Trump is suggesting he'll implement more sweeping tariffs that are sure to further disrupt our economy. This instability is outrageous and completely preventable. Trump promised to lower costs, but instead, markets are crashing, and prices are rising, creating uncertainty about the value of retirement savings and the high price on grocery bills.

In my time in Congress, I've focused on policies that create a better future for the people I represent – a future where everyone has the opportunity to overcome obstacles and thrive. I will continue that fight no matter what Trump and the Republicans throw at us.

Thank you for standing with me,

Suzanne
