John, it’s people like you who have powered every campaign I’ve ever run. So, I wanted to personally give you an update on where we landed with our March email fundraising goal of $100,000.
As you know, I set these monthly targets to help us stay on track with raising the resources we need to win. And, I communicate with you honestly about these goals, why they’re important, and our progress toward hitting them.
Thanks to an outpouring of grassroots support, we were able to get over 90% of the way to our goal!
I’m so grateful for everyone who chipped in $5 or whatever they could spare to help get this campaign off the ground. The work I do would not be possible without you. Thank you.
But, I won’t BS you. Because we fell short of our March target, we’re going to have to work twice as hard to make up lost ground. (Can you chip in right now to help us close the gap?)
Running in a big state like California is expensive. And because our campaign doesn’t take money from corporate PACs, lobbyists, or executives at Big Pharma, Big Oil, and Big Banks, we need many more small-dollar donors to make up the difference from rejecting those big checks.
That might spook other candidates, but it doesn’t get to me. I know that we have what it takes to win, with the strength of this movement behind me.
So I have to ask, will you help us kick off a strong start to our April fundraising with a donation?
More soon,
Katie
