Dear Mr. xxxxxx,
I wanted to pass along my latest update on what I have been doing to fight for you, Texas’ 21st Congressional District, and our country as a whole:
MS-13 Leader Caught
On March 27, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) successfully conducted an operation to capture and arrest the top leader of the terrorist organization, Mara Salvatrucha, or Ms-13, a gang who has, for years, been a source of illegal drugs and crime in the United States.
Thanks to the inter-agency task force established by the Trump Administration, this leader’s reign of crime and misery over every day Americans is ending. However, this El Salvadorian’s exploitation of our country and its people is just another example of our nation being attacked by foreign nationals.
This arrest is a step in the right direction in our mission to protect our country. We have been given a mandate by the American people to defend our country from illegal drugs and human trafficking. This Congress, I re-introduced my bill, H.R. 885, the Drug Cartel Terrorist Designation Act, that would now codify the Trump Administration’s policy of naming Mexican drug cartels as the rightful terrorists they are. Congress should immediately pass this bill to ensure future administrations remain tough on enforcing our laws to protect the safety and security of Americans.
SAVE ACT
The American people have seen through the lies about non-citizens “not” voting. To ensure the integrity of our democracy and her elections, I have reintroduced H.R. 22, the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (or SAVE) Act.
The SAVE Act will ensure that only American voters are voting in federal elections. The SAVE Act will require states to obtain proof of citizenship (through myriad options) before registering citizens to vote and remove non-citizens from existing voter rolls.
Contrary to the narrative the liberal media has been attempting to propagate, the SAVE Act will prevent no citizen from registering to vote due to a name change or similar issue. The only people who will not be able to vote in federal elections under this bill, are non-citizens.
UT Student Leaders
Last Wednesday, I was delighted to welcome a delegation of University of Texas students and leaders into my D.C. Office. I had the pleasure of speaking to the next generation of Texans, hearing their concerns as well as the issues that inspire them.
Read the Daily Texan’s article about their visit to DC here.
Government Spending
One of the most frustrating and regular complaints I hear from my constituents is how many pointless government regulations have ruined common products. From walk-in freezers to gas-cans, everyday items have a catalog of government regulations that make their use dysfunctional or tedious.
Everyday Texans in my district are beside themselves with frustration. They cannot buy something as simple as a $5 gas can, fill it up with gas, and pour it in their tractors without some government bureaucrat intervening and making that far more difficult, and expensive, than it ever had to be. This is why I put forward H.R. 1345, the Gas Can Freedom Act, to get Washington out of the way on the use of something as simple as a gas can.
Here are some other news articles of what I’ve been up to lately:
