Global Leaders Share Insights Into Post-10/7 Israel, Global Antisemitism


ADL&rsquo;s International Affairs agenda was prominently featured during the annual National Leadership Summit and Never is Now conferences, held in New York from March 2-4. Hundreds of international guests, including J7 leaders and representatives from dozens of global Jewish communities, joined over 4,200 participants at Never is Now. Internationally-focused speakers and panels included:

Judge Carlos Mahiques of Argentina, who was presented with the Klinghoffer Award for his efforts to bring the perpetrators of the 1994 AMIA bombing to justice

Marina Rosenberg Visits Chile and Israel for High-Profile Events, Speeches and Meetings


Marina Rosenberg, ADL&rsquo;s SVP for International Affairs, visited Santiago, Chile for the launch of

ALAS &ndash; the Latin American Alliance against Antisemitism &ndash; an ADL initiative that serves as a platform for cooperation between legislators to help strengthen regulatory frameworks, promote education about antisemitism and generate effective prevention strategies. Participants in ALAS include the Latin American Jewish Congress and parliamentarians from Colombia, Uruguay, Paraguay, Argentina and Chile.


While in Santiago, Marina also gave

the keynote address at the inauguration of the new board of directors of the Jewish community, and met with the Sub Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Mayor and Governor of Santiago, member of the Chilean Congress and officials at the US embassy.

Hebrew University President Prof. Cohen , Israeli National Security Council Director Tzachi Hanegbi, Australian journalist Erin Molan, international legal experts and organizations, Israeli civil society organizations, and members of ADL&rsquo;s Israel board.

Israel and the Middle East

said it was deeply concerned by reports of recent violence in the West Bank village of Jinba, and urged Israeli authorities to investigate and ensure those responsible are held fully accountable.


Europe


Marina Rosenberg

met with Ireland&rsquo;s Prime Minister to discuss challenges facing the small Irish Jewish community, including an atmosphere of antisemitism and anti-Israel bias.


On March 6, a Polish government delegation, including the Deputy Minister of Justice and their Special Envoy for combating antisemitism, visited ADL for meetings to help inform the government's development of a national strategy and action plan to fight antisemitism.


Latin America


ADL and the CONIB &ndash; the representative body of the Brazilian Jewish community - launched a

new partnership during Never is Now to strengthen efforts against antisemitism, and extremist threats in Brazil. Building on a 2023 Memorandum of Understanding, CONIB delegates will be embedded within ADL&rsquo;s Center on Extremism to gain expertise in monitoring, incident response, and threat assessment.


ADL hosted a Words to Action workshop for 100 12th grade students at the

Ort High School in Buenos Aires, Argentina, who are participating in the March of the Living to Poland.


To mark the 33rd anniversary of the bombing of the Israeli Embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina by Hezbollah, ADL

created a video of interviews with locals about the incident.

expressed strong opposition to nomination of Amer Ghalib to be the next US Ambassador to Kuwait, calling out Ghalib&rsquo;s record of trafficking in antisemitism, supporting BDS, attempting to justify the 10/7 massacre, and refusing to act against an appointee who attempted to justify the Holocaust.

letter to the President of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC), ADL called on the UNHRC to not re-appoint noted antisemite Francesca Albanese to another term as the UN Special Rapporteur on the Palestinian territories.
