John,

We wish someone would pop out and shout, “April Fools!” but, unfortunately, what they’re doing is no joke.

Give now to call them out for their ridiculousness.

It sounds like a punchline: Missouri proposing an “eHarmony for babies” in a bill about adoption [1], Trump talking about “tremendous goodies in the bag for women” undergoing in vitro fertilization and calling himself “the fertilization president” (at a Women’s History Month event no less) [2].

But this is no laughing matter. This is a clear, callous, and deliberate disregard for anyone with the capacity for pregnancy.

This cruelty continued just last week with Trump’s outrageous ‘DEI-hire’ witch hunt ending with pulled funding from ongoing research into how to protect pregnant people from domestic violence. Which, incidentally, is the leading cause of death for pregnant and postpartum women in the United States [3].

We’re not the first ones to say it and we won’t be the last: the cruelty is the point. Give today.

Sincerely,

Erin Matson

P.S. I’m getting pretty sick of them laughing at our pain, aren’t you? Give today to stand up to this bullying.
