Newsweek Reports: Married Women Could Be Stopped From Voting Under SAVE Act
Throughout my time in Congress, I have been a proud, unapologetic fighter for women's rights, and I would be remiss if I didn't speak up on the SAVE Act and the catastrophic implications it would have on this very fight.
The SAVE Act would require people to prove their citizenship with a birth certificate when registering to vote, which could prevent many married women whose last names don’t match their birth certificates from even being able to register to vote.
There are 69 million women in the United States who have changed their last name since getting married and, as a result, would not meet Republicans’ arbitrary requirements to vote. I refuse to allow House Republicans to set back women’s rights by decades. Will you chip in now to fuel my fight for women’s rights?

As Donald Trump and House Republicans work day and night to turn back the clock on decades of progress for women’s rights and voting rights, we have to fight back every step of the way.
This legislation is unconstitutional and un-American, plain and simple.
MAGA Republicans are willing to go as far as suppressing women voters and silencing our voices to continue electing extremists and pushing their divisive agenda.
We are witnessing the dismantling of American democracy right before our eyes, and we must take a stand before it’s too late. Please join me in the fight for women's rights by chipping in $10 right now.
Thank you,
