John,

Our friends at Greenpeace have just been ordered to pay an oil company over $660 million in damages because they dared to peacefully oppose a destructive pipeline.

Ekō could be next.

Fossil fuel giants are now emboldened to sue climate defenders out of existence. And Trump is making these attacks easier than ever. He has gutted the Environmental Protection Agency by slashing over 1,000 jobs, supported ramping up fossil fuel extraction, and vowed to “stop the wave of frivolous litigation from environmental extremists”.

We’ve gone after Trump’s biggest allies. We’ve embarrassed fossil fuel giants and helped win real victories against some very powerful and very rich corporations. So let’s face it – we’re on their radar.

That’s why we need to be ready to protect ourselves when the time comes. If everyone chips in what they can, we could build a legal fund to dip into whenever necessary, no matter where we (or even partners) face attacks in the world. Together, we can make sure our movement stays strong in the fight against corporate exploitation.

Big business has bottomless pockets but we have you.

Can you chip in to help protect Ekō?

We’re at a chilling turning point for free speech. Not only is the fossil fuel industry attempting to kill environmental movements for peacefully protesting, it's seeking immunity from lawsuits that would hold them accountable for their reckless pollution!

Worse, oil and gas lobbyists have been pushing destructive anti-protest laws that could result in non-violent climate activists ending up behind bars for up to ten years.

And this nightmare isn’t just a US problem. New laws in the UK and Australia have slowly given police more powers to crack down on peaceful protestors. Environmental activists in the Global South have long been some of the most at-risk climate defenders, for putting their lives on the line to speak out against reckless corporations forcing us into climate chaos.

These climate criminals are after one thing: carte blanche to destroy the planet. And they plan to sue, intimidate, and bankrupt anyone who gets in their way. All of this is designed to scare communities like ours into silence, but we won’t back down.

Our playbook is different. It’s built on people power. It's built on you.

We don’t take money from governments or corporations. Every campaign, every victory, every act of resistance is possible because people like you take action when it matters.

Now is one of those moments. If all of us chip in just a little, we could create one of the biggest legal funds in history to protect Ekō and campaigners everywhere, and make sure we’re never caught off guard by corporate giants trying to take us down.

With the Trump administration putting polluters over the planet – and trying to silence all of us who speak out against the rich and powerful – we need your help more than ever before. Can you help us keep our movement strong?

Your donation will help power Ekō and our campaigns worldwide fighting for people and the planet.

Thanks for all that you do,
Nabil, Miriam and the Ekō team
