As we celebrate Pride Month, I’m so honored to have earned the endorsement of the Human Rights Campaign -- the nation's largest LGBTQ+ advocacy group. I promise to always fight alongside HRC and other allies to ensure equal rights for our LGBTQ+ communities.

Pride Month is a time to lift up LGBTQ+ voices. It's a time to recognize the heroes of the movement -- such as Marsha P. Johnson, who threw the first brick at Stonewall. It's a time to celebrate the incredible progress we've made for equality, while recognizing that we still have a long way to go.

It’s the inherent right of every human being to be treated with respect, dignity, and fairness. Yet, millions of LGBTQ+ Americans in a majority of states (including Arizona) lack critical civil rights protections in the workplace, in housing, in schools, in public accommodations, and in other settings in society. This is unacceptable.

It's been over a year since the House passed the Equality Act to rectify this -- and we cannot forget that David Schweikert voted against the law.

We deserve a representative who believes that no one should face discrimination because of who they are or who they love. I'll advocate for all of my constituents the same way I've cared for all of my patients: as human beings who have value.
