Folks,

The NDRC was founded eight years ago, just as Donald Trump came to power in 2017. Thanks to supporters like you, we've accomplished a lot in that time — successfully fighting off Republican attempts to gerrymander while winning fairer maps in states across the country.

But with Trump back in the White House and a Republican-led Congress set on attacking the foundations of our democracy, our mission is more urgent than ever.

That’s why we want to take a moment to explain eight reasons why your donation before our midnight deadline is so important: [[link removed]]

1. The Wisconsin Supreme Court election is TOMORROW! The NDRC is helping get out the vote right now in Wisconsin. With Elon Musk spending upwards of $20 million, we need to make sure our grassroots team runs through the tape.

2. In North Carolina, Republicans are still trying to overturn a free and fair election for the state supreme court. We’re working hard to ensure that other states don’t make headway trying to replicate this sore-loser strategy.

3. There’s expected to be a redraw of Ohio’s congressional maps later this year. The NDRC is working to ensure the GOP doesn't get away with putting in place an even more egregiously skewed map.

4. The Trump administration is attempting to undermine the 2030 census. The work we do in the months and years ahead is essential to making sure new maps don’t unfairly disadvantage diverse communities.

5. Extremist lawmakers are pushing an anti-voter bill, the SAVE Act, that would make it harder, if not impossible, for millions of voters to vote. We need to keep fighting back against any and every attempt to silence voters.

6. In states like Florida, Republicans have launched state-level threats to our pro-democracy values – like legislation that would make it nearly impossible for everyday Floridians to bring constitutional amendments to the ballot. How hard we fight back depends on how many resources we can invest.

7. Our work to elect our endorsed Democracy Defenders in state-level races is more important than ever. We need to keep investing in this work to build firewalls against GOP extremism.

8. All of this work is paying off, friend — maps are fairer today in many states because of our ongoing efforts to support redistricting reforms. The New York Times called the 2022 midterms the “fairest map in 40 years,” and the Washington Post just declared that the House’s structural bias toward Republicans has been erased. But we need your continued generosity to keep up this momentum, as partisan extremists will continue to look for opportunities to gerrymander maps in their favor.

Please rush your donation of $30 or more now before our midnight deadline and support this critical work to help elect our endorsed Democracy Defenders, combat ongoing gerrymandering, and safeguard our democracy. [[link removed]]
