Hi John,

Jumping head-first into vote-by-mail is key to Democrats winning in 2020. Information is power and we want to share some stats on vote-by-mail. This is data that you can bring with you in your conversations with friends and family as we fight to build our grassroots movement.

We’ve identified 2.5 million “dual risk” voters in swing states that are at higher risk of contracting COVID-19 and also the least likely to request mail-in ballots. These are the voters we need to reach and we’re focused on sending them mail-in ballot applications directly.

Only 10.7% of voters in Michigan, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania voted by mail in 2016. We need to get those numbers up if we’re going to continue to flatten the curve and make voting accessible in November.

Sending voters applications with addressed envelopes and return postage makes it easier to vote-by-mail. There’s a 4-7% average increase in turnout from sending voters additional applications with information on how and why to apply.

Election officials in states across the country need to prepare for the general election. Organizations like ours are being asked to send mail-in ballot applications early so there’s not a backlog of requests close to Election Day.

Voting-by-mail means Americans can avoid the potential health risks of casting their ballots in person, saving them from waiting in line and being in a crowded space.

We care deeply about vote-by-mail and think it’s going to be key to ensuring Americans can safely cast their ballots in the November election. It’s also one of our best paths to defeating Trump.

Thank you,

P.S. We're working on an important campaign that will launch tomorrow morning ahead of Tuesday's primary elections next week. I'll make sure to email about it.
------------
Vote From Home 2020 is a grassroots movement that's making vote by mail more accessible. With a $25 donation, we'll send vote by mail applications to 20 voters. COVID-19 has brought America to a halt, and with it almost all in-person voter mobilization efforts. While volunteers can’t get on buses to swing states or go door-to-door right now, there is a huge opportunity for progressives, especially in solidly blue states, to get out the vote where it counts. By sending vote by mail ballots to targeted states and following up with text and calls to voters, we can ensure the 2020 general election is safe and accessible. Please forward this email if you know someone who may be interested. Our average gift is just under $25 so consider donating that today to support voting rights.
