Between the ongoing pandemic, financial crisis, and an eruption of activism stemming from long-standing racial inequality in our country, it's clear that we are in desperate need of critical reforms.
The good news is Mike is on frontlines fighting each and every day for our shared values in Congress. Just this week, Mike helped to introduce two new bipartisan bills -- the Homeless Veteran Coronavirus Response Act and The Veterans Economic Recovery Act of 2020. Both of these bills provide critical aid for veterans who have been impacted by the coronavirus.
Mike also cosponsored the Eric Garner Excessive Use of Force Prevention Act to prohibit the use of chokeholds by law enforcement across the nation. This legislation mirrors the reforms recently taken by police departments in Oceanside and San Diego to eliminate dangerous tactics like ‘carotid restraint.’
This is still poised to be one of the most competitive races in the state come November. He's also up against a Trump Republican who is promising to undue all the progress we've made. Can you chip in $20.20 to help us keep Mike in Congress?
June is going to be a critical month for us. We're up against a major FEC fundraising deadline, and it should come as no surprise that fundraising hasn't been our top priority given everything we are dealing with.
But National Republicans and their super PACs are watching closely and looking for any vulnerability -- including lackluster fundraising numbers. While we're hard at work, they're plotting to reclaim their lost House seats.
