More About Our Speaker: Lt. Governor Winsome Sears
We are honored to welcome Winsome Sears, the Lieutenant Governor of Virginia, as the keynote speaker for this year’s TakeCharge Gala on April 12.
A trailblazer and a true embodiment of the American dream, Winsome Sears immigrated to the United States from Jamaica as a child. Her father arrived with just $1.75 in his pocket, believing in the promise of America. Winsome went on to serve as a U.S. Marine, run a successful business, lead a prison ministry, and break barriers in politics as the first Black woman elected statewide in Virginia.
A passionate advocate for faith, family, and opportunity, Lt. Gov. Sears is a bold leader who speaks truth with conviction.
