Listen: I know how easy it is to fall into the trap of thinking, "What's the point?"

It's tempting, given the circumstances, to believe that truth no longer matters, or that the fabric of our country is torn beyond repair.

That's how Donald Trump and his cronies want you to think.

They want you to believe you’re powerless, because it’s easier for them to steamroll us if we lay down and surrender.

The more hopeless and apathetic we feel, the stronger they become.

Don’t buy it for a second.
As Abraham Lincoln once said about a crisis worse than our own, there's always been enough virtue in the nation to save the union. Sometimes none to spare, but always enough.

Things won’t magically get better. We have to become that surplus of virtue. We must be the ones to ensure that our democracy emerges from this crisis stronger for the next generation.

Will it be easy? No.

Will it take time and patience? Yes.

But is it possible? Absolutely.

Decent, patriotic people like us have power. We can elect a crop of leaders who share our commitment to democracy, science, and freedom for all.

But first, we have to keep organizing, keep eroding Trump’s support, and keep forcing his mounting failures into the spotlight.
