Last week was rough.

Iowa Republicans at the Capitol passed two bills that use low-income Iowans as political pawns. Here's what I posted on Facebook:

[link removed] [[link removed]] There's been a theme at the Capitol the past few years: bipartisan opposition while Republicans pass controversial bills.

House Files 948 and 970 continue with their punch-down politics agenda which is just cruel.

HF948 demands the federal government allow our state to impose work requirements for many Iowans on Medicaid. If the federal government rejects that request as many as 182,000 Iowans will lose their health insurance immediately!

HF970 limits the food that people using SNAP benefits can purchase. During the floor debate, Republicans admitted that they didn't know which foods would or wouldn't be eligible . So how in the world are these folks supposed to know?!?!?!

Iowans don't want this! We need to elect more Democrats to stop this nonsense. Will you donate $11 today to help us make sure we get more Democrats elected? [[link removed]]
