Before I ask you to chip in ahead of my end-of-March deadline – and my first end-of-quarter deadline since Trump retook office – I wanted to update you about Trump and Musk’s pro-billionaire, anti-middle-class agenda, and what I’m doing about it.

(Full disclosure: This is going to be a long email. But with the stakes as high as they are, I want to make sure you have the most up-to-date information about what is happening.)

House Republicans’ disastrous spending bill was passed and signed into law. And when I say disastrous – I mean a bill that turns taxpayer funding for priority projects into slush funds for Trump and his billionaire co-President Elon Musk to use as they see fit.

We are talking about serious funding cuts: a nearly 50% cut to lifesaving medical research into conditions affecting our servicemembers. This bill leaves a giant shortfall in funding for NIH. It is a massive cut in funding for Army Corps projects and $15 billion less for other critical domestic priorities.

In short: This spending bill serves as the first step of their Project 2025-style plan to empower Trump to have more say on federal spending.

By handing these slush funds to the White House, Republicans want to allow Trump and Musk to commit highway robbery in broad daylight and play a game of winners and losers with your taxpayer dollars.

Next up? Republicans are positively sprinting to pass trillions in tax cuts for billionaires and giant corporations all while they cut programs our families rely on like Medicaid and SNAP. 

And with Trump's hot-and-cold trade wars, indiscriminate layoffs, and illegal funding freezes that have sent our economy careening toward a Republican-made recession, the biggest loser of all will be middle-class Americans.

We cannot carry on like any of this is normal. It flies in the face of our Constitution and laws and we ALL need to speak out and fight back to stop Trump and Elon from breaking our government to its very core. 

This is where you come in. We have a lot to fight for and work ahead – and I need to show a SURGE of grassroots momentum to prove we have what it takes to keep it up. Can you chip in now toward my first end-of-quarter goal since Trump took office?
