Dear Friends and Supporters of Texas Values Action,

The popular phrase of “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” does not ring true when it comes to the Casino Gambling industry. For many years, including this year, hundreds of highly paid lobbyists show up at the Texas Capitol to pressure our Texas House and Senate members to approve a new law so they can import and flood Texas with Casinos Gambling operations. Maybe they will build one in your neighborhood, or along the freeway at the exit you take to get into your neighborhood. Or maybe they will build the Casino Gambling operation, which stays open 24 hours a day, down the street from your church or your child’s school?

At Texas Values Action, we have been the leading faith and family organization in Texas to oppose the expansion of gambling in Texas, since we started this organization in 2012. Every two years, we have had to discuss this issue more, and last year on our Faith and Family Scorecard, several legislative votes were part of the votes the we tracked and scored for Texas House and Senate members.

Just a few weeks ago, we helped secure a huge victory in Irving, Texas to stop Casino Gambling!! Following the lead of our dear friend, Cheryl Bean, we were able to rally people to show up at the Irving City Council meeting, and Megan Benton from our team appeared at the meeting in person and testified against the proposal seeking to allow Sands Casino the right to change zoning restrictions so Sands can start planning to build a Casino right in the middle and heart of the Dallas-Forth Worth area!

Packed Irving City Council meeting to stop Casino Gambling!

Did you know? The 2025 Texas Legislative session is already half-way over?? That’s right, less then 70 days of 140 remain and there is still a lot of work to do!! But so far we have helped the Texas Senate pass major legislation, including:
1) The Texas Ten Commandments bill (SB 10),
2) The Coach Kennedy Religious Freedom in Schools bill (SB 11), 3) No Woke Agenda in Public Schools bill (SB12), and
4) Parental Rights & Review to Stop of Sexualized Books in School Library (SB 13), and
5) Ban On Drag Queen Story Hour in Public Library (SB 18).

But we still have more important work to do for pro-life and a legislation to stop men from going into women’s and girls locker rooms, shower and bathrooms! (SB 240 & HB 239).

Mary Elizabeth Castle testifying in favor of SB 1388, a Pro-Life bill, by Sen. Kolkhorst at the State Capitol.

So we need your help today, the last day of March! We are way behind the amount of money we need to raise to cover our expenses, to keep having a member of our team at the Texas Capitol everyday of the Texas Legislative session. WE NEED YOUR HELP today with a donation to Texas Values Action. Keep Texans informed of what’s happening at the Capitol. Your donation helps us have unlimited lobbying options to do what we need to do to pass good laws, and stop bad ones! We need to raise $100,000 today to stay strong. Can you donate today, and then forward this to 2 or 3 friends? We are really counting on you, please donate today by midnight!!
