John, action is the antidote to despair and is the key to victory.
Last week in Fort Bend County, Governor Tim Walz and Beto hosted a town hall because the district’s own representative, Republican Troy Nehls, refused to hold one.
Texans braved the rain and traffic to be there because they want leadership that shows up, answers tough questions, and fights for them every single day.
Town halls like these provide real solutions and real accountability. These town halls remind those Congress members, Republican and Democrat alike, who put them in those positions of power.
At the town hall, we heard from Texans who feel abandoned — by leaders who refuse to fight for working people, by a Democratic Party that needs to be bolder, and by a political system that too often leaves them behind.
For too long, Democrats have been timid, ineffective, and afraid to engage with the very people they claim to represent. Too many sit back, hoping demographics will eventually hand them a victory. That’s not just a losing strategy — it’s a betrayal of the people counting on us to fight.
If we want to change Texas, if we want to protect democracy and build a future rooted in justice, we can’t wait. We have to step up together.
Together,
