The Union | Monthly Volunteer Newsletter
📅 March 2025
Dear Members,
March has been a month of action , and we’re carrying that momentum into April. From curating important talking points for significant races to strengthening our volunteer network, The Union continues to build the infrastructure necessary to support decent, competent candidates and to expose the lack of decency and competence on full display in D.C. and some states.
WHAT WE’VE ACCOMPLISHED:
✅ Developed and shared targeted talking points for pivotal races, including the Wisconsin State Supreme Court race and Florida’s House districts CD-1 and CD-6.
✅ Designed and distributed shareable graphics to boost voter engagement and turnout in Wisconsin and Florida.
✅ Advanced the Virginia and New Jersey state organizing plans as blueprints for our 50-state strategy.
✅ Co-hosted a Community Conversations Town Hall in FL-7 with Reed Galen and Jennifer Adams, bringing together voters from diverse backgrounds. Notably absent was the district’s current representative, who has been missing in action — except for high-dollar fundraisers.
✅ Launched a Community Conversations monthly series in Belfast, Maine and a support group for those concerned about the state of our democracy, led by Union volunteer Elliot Benjamin, Ph.D.
✅ Team PA held its first community meet-and-greet for the year, bringing volunteers together in Media, PA, to discuss the political landscape and take action. The next gathering is in May — stay tuned!
✅ Called through our volunteer list in Virginia and New Jersey, mobilizing grassroots efforts in both states.
✅ Hosted our first book club on White Rural Rage — a powerful discussion that led to concrete action steps for engaging rural communities.
✅ Engaged disaffected Trump supporters, reinforcing that The Union is about standing up for America — not a political party.
✅ Built new partnerships with United for Democracy, Primary Rino, and Center for the Common Ground to strengthen our organizing efforts.
✅ Sounded the alarm on the urgent need for candidates in the New Jersey State Assembly, successfully advocating for 7 out of 12 seats to be filled.
✅ Rallied volunteers to help turn out voters and mobilize their networks for Pennsylvania’s State House special elections in Lancaster and Allegheny counties — securing key victories.
✅ Connected with volunteers across the country — from Florida to Oregon, Idaho to Virginia, North Carolina, Arizona to Michigan, Washington, and more — who have stepped up to lead community meet & greets in their areas. Want to host one in your community? Fill out this survey HERE [[link removed]] .
✅ Our first live town hall drew over 500 viewers on X! If you missed it, catch the replay HERE [[link removed]] .

APRIL 1st ELECTIONS - WE NEED YOU!
3 Major elections are happening TOMORROW , on April 1, and the stakes couldn’t be higher. These races will shape the balance of power at both state and national levels, and voter turnout is key to ensuring that decent, competent candidates will win at the ballot box. We need all hands on deck to make sure every voter is informed and ready to cast their ballot.
📍 Florida: FL-01 & FL-06 Congressional elections — there is an opportunity to regain balance or control of the House. While these Districts have typically leaned red, these Special Elections, in this environment, are areas of opportunity where we are providing support and infrastructure for candidates who genuinely care about their constituents.
📍 Wisconsin: State Supreme Court race — the outcome will impact state-level issues of election fairness and individual freedoms and directly affect Wisconsinites and their communities . This isn’t about national narrative puppet figures. Please do what you can to remind voters to get to the polls, and call your friends, family, or anyone you know in WI. This is a non-partisan race.
There are also ballot measures where Wisconsin voters will decide state-level initiatives and other executive offices.
These elections will impact policy, representation, and the future of democracy in these states. The best way to make a difference? Pick up the phone and call voters. Head to our Volunteer Action Center to start making calls today! [[link removed]]
LOOKING AHEAD:
As we step into Q2 and the heart of spring, we’re taking our work on the road with "The Union Road Tour” — planning the route, building out events that will lead into summer, and making sure we show up where engagement is needed most. This Road Tour will bring us into communities, college campuses, and key districts, strengthening our organizing footprint in Virginia and New Jersey while expanding efforts in states like Illinois, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio, Florida, Oregon, Georgia, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and Idaho. With more Town Halls, local meetups, and voter registration events on the horizon, we’re focused on informing, engaging, and mobilizing voters . Please let us know of any opportunities to bring people together for unifying events in your area. We’re scaling up volunteer leadership and empowering more people to take action in their communities. From local races to national impact, every conversation, every action, and every vote matters. We’re not waiting for change — we’re building it . Stay tuned, get involved, and let’s hit the road!
And if you can, chip in a few bucks to help us fuel the tank, print flyers with critical talking points, and get us to the next town. Because showing up is how we win. [[link removed]]
To get involved further, please fill out this survey HERE [[link removed]] to connect with your Regional Organizer or State lead.
