View as Webpage READ THE REPORT Inside the Edition: 2024 Chair's Message It was an honor to preside as Chair of the Board of Directors during the 100th year of our Arlington Chamber of Commerce. It was a year, both of reflection and vision. Looking back and reminiscing about our past history, while looking forward and imaging what we can mold our Chamber into in the future. Thinking about how our County and community have changed, and how we might keep changing in future. How our Chamber can help affect that change, and what changes we will have to make to stay effective. So for my last message to the membership as Chair, I would simply advise taking time to broaden your horizons. Push past the now, or the daily routine, and look to the future, or larger community, and find the best ways that you can help and grow your business and the community, our Chamber will be here to help both for next 100 years. 2025 Chair's Message I kicked off our 2025 Gala by observing an illusion. Although we initially appear as singular individuals, every one of us is many people: a neighbor, a parent, a teacher, a colleague, a customer, a best friend. Every relationship is initiated on one plane, but when we deepen those connections, we see each other in more dimensions. As we see these other facets, it drives up our empathy and appreciation for one another. Our community gets stronger, less fearful, and more resilient. For our 101st year, we are driven to showcase the Chamber to new audiences, bringing positive impact to more businesses than ever before, and in new ways. Together we continually prove that business brings out the best in Arlington. Be it a cradle, convener, or community, our Chamber is a new idea, an engine of growth, and an open door. Business Advocacy The Chamber continues to be a leading voice in the business community. In 2024, the Chamber helped make a real and lasting impact on the business community with more than 40 policy position letters sent, 25 statements during the General Assembly session submitted, and countless hours spent in conversations with elected officials and key government leaders. Community Impact The Chamber is proud to be a resource to our member businesses to build enriching relationships with the Arlington community. In 2024, we worked closely with nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and state and local government to cultivate valuable partnerships. Job Shadow Day provides an opportunity for students to experience real-world work environments that can inform their career aspirations and their own personal growth. This year, Job Shadow Day was organized by the Arlington Chamber of Commerce’s Education and Workforce Development Committee, in partnership with Arlington Public Schools' Career Center and The Sycamore School, and was sponsored by Amazon.
