Dear John,
Today I kicked off our local election campaign in style… showjumping (sort of) with our wonderful Liberal Democrat team in Oxfordshire. | | After our record-breaking general election result last July, the local elections on May 1st are a huge opportunity for us to keep on winning – get more Liberal Democrats elected to councils across England, and kick more Conservatives out of office. In so many places, it’s a two-horse race!
From Cornwall to Cambridgeshire and Durham to Devon, more and more people are turning to the Liberal Democrats to be their local champions. They are fed up with being let down by Labour and taken for granted by the Conservatives – and these elections are our chance to show we offer something different.
With Nigel Farage and Reform spending enormous sums on their campaign, it is more important than ever that we offer a positive, liberal alternative to the nasty, destructive populism they peddle. So we need your help.
Please give what you can to help elect as many brilliant Liberal Democrats as possible on 1st May. | | With your support, I know we can get lots more hard-working Liberal Democrats elected to make a real difference for their communities.
Thank you!
Best wishes, | | Ed Davey MP Leader of the Liberal Democrats (he/him) | | | | PS. There really is a chance we could overtake the Conservatives in these elections, taking control of more councils than them.
