After winning 75% of our endorsed races against the corporate establishment this week, we were thrilled to host our next wave of endorsed candidates yesterday on our monthly national membership call.
Those candidates included Jamaal Bowman and Samelys López, both strong progressives endorsed by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who support Medicare for All, rent reform, and the Green New Deal.
Jamaal is running for Congress in New York against corporate Democrat Eliot Engel, who was recently caught on a hot mic saying that if he didn’t have a primary challenger, he “wouldn’t care” about speaking to his district about unrest over police killings.
Rush a donation here to help us do everything we can to help Our Revolution endorsed progressives like Jamaal Bowman and Samelys López defeat their corporate Democrat opponents!
If you’ve stored your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will process immediately.
We were also proud to be joined by civil rights attorney Mike Siegel, who is in a run-off election for Congress in Texas against pro-corporate, faux progressive Pritesh Gandhi.
Gandhi flip-flopped on Medicare for All, takes dirty money from big banks, and has a super PAC behind him that has relentlessly attacked Mike.
Pitch in here to help Mike Siegel fight for Medicare for All in Congress and send a strong message that Democrats are DONE with tolerating candidates who stand against guaranteeing health care as a human right.
Our Revolution is also excited to back Betsy Sweet, who is running for the U.S. Senate in Maine against Trump and Kavanaugh collaborator Susan Collins.
Betsy has been fighting to uphold the importance of universal healthcare throughout the coronavirus pandemic, while her corporate Democrat opponent fuels their campaign with tens of thousands of dollars apiece from Google, Amazon, several hedge funds, and some of Maine’s biggest commercial law firms.
In West Virginia, we are squarely behind progressive champion Stephen Smith for Governor. Smith led a community-based nonprofit organization that helped expand health insurance to thousands of West Virginians, raise the state minimum wage, and provide millions of free school breakfasts.
His campaign, in the model of Bernie Sanders, has broken the West Virginia record for small and individual contributions.
During the COVID-19 crisis, he has repurposed his campaign into a rapid response organization to help West Virginians access coronavirus testing and treatment.
We also couldn’t be prouder to back Nabilah Islam and Jackie Fielder. Nabilah is running for Congress in Georgia against a corporate Democrat who has raked in big bucks from Bain Capital. Nabilah watched her mother go through the indignities of being a working-class person without health insurance and backs Medicare for All because she’s determined not to let it happen to anyone else.
Jackie Fielder is running for State Senate in California against an incumbent corporate Democrat who shamefully takes money from the real estate lobby, even though they represent America’s most unaffordable city.
Jackie is part of the Native, Latinx, and LGBTQ+ communities, and ran a campaign in 2018 against a ballot measure that sought to increase funding and broaden the allowable use of force for the San Francisco Police Department.
