We have been diving into the call results from all of your calls to Congress
this year (nearly **four million** since the inauguration if we’re counting)
and something interesting caught our eye.
Here’s a map showing the most popular call in each state during the month of
March. Only one of two calls emerged as the top issue in every state: opposing
the budget continuing resolution or supporting Ukraine.
The
most called issue on 5 Calls in March for each state
Does this map look familiar to anyone? It is essentially the 2024 electoral
college map, with Republican states primarily interested in supporting Ukraine
and Democrat states calling against the latest budget CR. The exceptions are
of course swing states: Michigan, Nevada, Arizona and Georgia which turned out
for Trump in 2024 but called more about opposing the latest budget CR. If call
sentiment was a predictor of votes, this map would have delivered the
presidency to Democrats with 274 electoral votes.
## This Week in Congress
The House has a packed schedule this week with a pile of bad legislation your
reps need to hear your opinion on:
## [Voter Suppression i.e. the SAVE
act]([link removed])
This bill would require in-person voter registration with either a birth
certificate or passport matching your current name. This is your weekly
reminder that voter fraud is not a widespread problem, this bill only exists
to prevent people from voting.
## [“No Rogue Rulings
Act”]([link removed])
What happens when judges hear cases about illegal executive orders and rule
against Trump? His cronies in the House are attempting to strip federal judges
of their authority to review and reverse illegal orders. What ever happened to
our co-equal branches of government?
## [Who doesn’t love higher bank
fees?]([link removed])
The CFPB ruled that banks needed to limit overdraft fees to $5. Banks,
interested in charging you exorbitant fees for overdrafts, lobbied Congress to
reverse the limit and it’s already passed the Senate. This is pretty clearly a
bad deal for consumers and Congress is hoping to sneak it in before you
notice.
