Chicago, Illinois, December 12, 2024 (ABC7 Chicago) The incident occurred at about 10:20 p.m. in the 8700-block of South Dauphin Avenue. Police said a suspect was trying to break into a vehicle when a 40-year-old man who is a concealed carry license holder confronted the suspect. The break-in suspect fled on foot and another suspect got out of a nearby car and fired at the 40-year-old man, who returned fire, police said. The first suspect returned to the vehicle and fled the scene, police said. Greenfield, Indiana, December 13, 2024 (FOX 59) An Indianapolis man was pronounced dead after a shooting early Friday morning in the parking lot of the Amazon warehouse in Greenfield… When deputies arrived, they found a man, later identified as 39-year-old Isaac Riley, who was shot. Riley was later pronounced dead by officials. Another man was located at the scene with “hands raised to surrender to deputies.”… According to the office, officials said that it appeared to be an isolated incident between the two people, stating that the “shooting appears to be in self-defense.” “The suspected shooter and witnesses all cooperated with law enforcement,” the post read. According to a news release from the Hancock County Prosecutor’s Office, officials said that the two involved individuals did not know each other, but “came into contact” before the shooting. Riley reportedly confronted the shooter inside the Amazon facility and “threatened to cause physical harm to the shooter.” The release said that the shooter left the building and was waiting on a ride in the parking lot when Riley approached him and made additional aggressive remarks. Riley also reportedly “made additional aggressive remarks and furtive movements while closing in on the shooter in an aggressive manner,” the release said. “The shooter drew a firearm that he had in his possession and fired, ultimately striking Riley and causing his death,” the release said. “Amazon, its employees, the shooter and other witnesses have been cooperative with the ongoing investigation. All initial information indicates that this is an isolated incident.”… The prosecutor’s office states that at this time, no formal criminal charges have been requested or filed. Columbus, Ohio, December 15, 2024 (NBC4i.com) According to a social media post by Corey Taylor, he and a witness alerted police that individuals had broken into his truck by shattering a window shortly after 5 a.m. The truck was parked in front of Taylor’s residence on Kelso Road. While waiting for the police, Taylor decided to take matters into his own hands and approached the suspects, with a firearm in hand. One of the suspects, who was inside the truck, attempted to flee but immediately went down to the ground upon seeing Taylor and the gun… Court documents state that police arrived seconds later and observed Taylor holding 26-year-old Zachariah Johnson at gunpoint along the sidewalk where the truck was parked. An officer apprehended Johnson, and police said he told them that he was attempting to steal items for extra money.
