Hey John,
This year’s Transgender Day of Visibility brings both joy and pain – joy from seeing the incredible ways people in transgender, non-binary, and gender-expansive (TNGE) communities continue to thrive, and pain from anti-trans executive orders, deeply flawed research, chaos, and confusion. Trans people are not mentally ill, physically repulsive, or spiritually afflicted – we are fighting for our right to exist peacefully, joyfully, and visibly for more than just one day. That is why this year’s Transgender Day of Visibility is important now more than ever.In observance of this year’s Transgender Day of Visibility, we are showcasing three ways you can support TNGE young people.
1) We invite all parents, educators, and adult allies to check out our Trans Affirming Schools Project Resource Guide—
a resource created to help you support TNGE young people in educational spaces. Whether you're a caregiver, educator, or advocate, this guide offers practical tips and tools to help create safe, affirming environments where all students can thrive.
2) Educators and organizations are encouraged to schedule training from our Finally Enough Love Professional Development series—
a powerful and interactive workshop experience designed to deepen understanding of TNGE community perspectives, build affirming practices, and support the leadership of young people. Let’s work together to create learning spaces rooted in love, safety, and liberation. Email us at [email protected].
3) Are you a young person ready to lead, organize, and make change in your community? Sign up to join our Youth Collective and you will receive an email when our Youth Activist Network opens up the first week of April! As a member, you’ll connect with other trans, queer, and allied youth, build your skills through training and workshops, and take action on the issues that matter most to you. Your voice, your power—
this is your time.
On this Transgender Day of Visibility, join Advocates for Youth in our unwavering commitment to rise up, speak out, and unapologetically support transgender, non-binary, and gender-expansive young people and communities on this day, and every day.
In community,
