I hope you are doing well. It is hard to start any email this week without talking about the ridiculous, asinine, illegal and deadly serious “Signal-gate.”

Using an unsecured app, including a reporter in a group chat, and then using that chat to share classified information about military maneuvers is almost unbelievable. I say “almost” because this is everything that we were yelling about in Pete Hegseth’s confirmation hearings. He is the single most unqualified person to serve as Secretary of Defense in American history.

But here’s the news you might have missed:

Donald Trump has pulled the nomination of Elise Stefanik to be United Nations ambassador.

Trump is keeping Stefanik in Congress because the GOP is worried about losing a special election for a district that Trump won by 21 points! The MAGA GOP knows that their extreme agenda focused on giving unchecked power and riches to billionaires is not popular with Americans who are watching the economy get decimated, and their Social Security and health care threatened.

For the first time since Donald Trump was sworn in, I feel like we are on the offense. Now is the time to start building our blue wave, while the MAGA regime is scared and on their heels. Trump’s billionaire oligarchs will be spending millions on these swing seat races but we can win because we have the grassroots people power.
