Remembering the Six Day War

Today in 1967, Israel launched a preemptive war against Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Palestinians. During this war, Israel also attacked the USS Liberty off the coast of Egypt on June 8, which killed and injured dozens of U.S. navy men. Through its land grab, Israel conquered the Sinai Peninsula, West Bank and East Jerusalem, Gaza Strip and Golan Heights. Shortly after its conquest of Arab lands, Israel embarked upon it settler-colonial project - applying military strategies for civilian occupation. The repercussions of the Six Day War could be felt throughout the Middle East and continue to do so until today.

In remembrance of the Six Day War, Middle East Books and More is offering 10% off all books in our store from June 5-June 10. Use discount code JUNE 5 at checkout.
