Dear John,
In this week's newsletter, honoring Jay Larson, the House Intelligence Committee's 2025 Worldwide Threat Assessment, and supporting Illinois manufacturers. If you need help with federal agencies, please reach out to one of my offices listed at the bottom of the newsletter.
Honoring Jay Larson
Jay Larson embodied the values of a dedicated public servant.
I'm proud to co-lead legislation to dedicate the Harrison Avenue Post Office in Rockford in Jay's honor. This will preserve his legacy and is a reminder of the positive impact one person can have on an entire community.

Discussing the Worldwide Threat Assessment Hearing with Julie Mason
The world is on fire, our adversaries are on the move, and the United States cannot afford to fall behind.
This week, the House Intelligence Committee held a hearing with some of the top Trump national security officials. CIA Director John Ratcliffe was clear: the Chinese Communist Party is the greatest threat to the United States, and countering its increased aggression must be one of our top priorities.
It is critical that our military and Intelligence Community must be equipped to meet the moment.

Supporting Illinois Manufacturers
On Friday, I joined Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center and the Illinois Manufacturing Association for a roundtable at Rheo Engineering in Peoria to hear directly from manufacturers throughout the 16th District about federal policies that impact their operations.
Manufacturing is a vital component of our economy, and House Republicans are committed to revitalizing American manufacturing and giving these businesses the opportunity to thrive.

My Interview on Squawk Box
The core problem with TikTok has always been ByteDance's ties to the Chinese Communist Party.
It is critical that we safeguard Americans' data and protect the United States National Security. I believe the Trump administration will complete a great deal to preserve TikTok and address these fundamental threats.

Touring Anthony Liftgates in Pontiac
Illinois' 16th District thrives because of small, family-run businesses like Anthony Liftgates.
I appreciate their President, Tom Walker, for inviting me to tour their operation in Pontiac and discuss their impact on the community.
One More Thing: Extending the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act
The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act reduced and simplified taxes for small businesses, which enabled them to remain competitive and invest in their workers. Congress must make these provisions permanent to support continued growth and financial security for Illinois families and small businesses.
