The country is, rightfully, in turmoil as we finally begin to acknowledge the lethal effects of white supremacy. George Floyd was murdered. He was not the first victim, but he can be the last.
So protest. Vote. Stand in solidarity with your neighbors. And donate to the Southern Poverty Law Center.
John,
The last few months have been more challenging than most in living memory, for Montanans and for our entire country. In the face of a pandemic and a historic movement demanding an end to police violence against black Americans, you made your voice heard at the ballot box.
We may not have won the day yesterday, John, but that doesn’t mean big corporations, special interests, and the powerful can count you, me, or any Montanan fighting for justice and equity out of this fight.
In the days, weeks, and months ahead, we need to stand side-by-side with community leaders, people of color, and working folks across our state to demand action now — and fight like hell for Democrats up and down the ballot in November who are ready to bring our country back from the brink Donald Trump drove us to.
I’ll be with you and every Montantan hungry for change every step of the way. And until then, I just want to say this:
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your support and well wishes over the course of this campaign. Our grassroots team changed the conversation for good here in Montana, and I’m proud to have earned your faith and your vote.
Onwards,
Representative Tom Winter
Rep. Tom Winter proudly represents Montana’s 96th district in the State House. In 2018, Tom flipped his state house seat from Red to Blue in a Trump +10 district by talking to every voter, regardless of party. As a rising star in the Democratic Party, Tom has been fighting hard in the state house to ensure all Montanans have access to affordable, quality healthcare.
