John,

Every day, more than 100 Americans are killed by guns. And a disproportionate number of those killed are women and people of color.

Today, I'm joining millions of Americans across the country in wearing orange to raise awareness and end gun violence in our country. And it's never been more important to address gun violence as our country is reeling from the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery.

No one should be scared to see a movie, go shopping, get pulled over by police, or attend a church service. We owe it to every American to take swift action to address the gun violence epidemic happening in our country right now -- and we need our legislators to take action.

Our communities have been ravaged by gun violence and countless lives changed forever as they’ve been forced to say goodbye to loved ones too soon. This should not be our normal and it’s time we take action to end gun violence now.

We can -- and we must -- do better, John. It’s time for legislators across the country to come together to pass meaningful gun reform legislation. If you agree, add your name to join me in fighting for a better future for our children.

Thank you,

Laura
