Friends,

This past week and a half has been one of the most challenging periods in our state’s history.

Through it all, Minnesotans have responded the way they always have when they see a neighbor in need – by donating, volunteering, and organizing for their community.

As we embark on this process of healing, we must understand that we cannot simply go back to the place we were before. That place is not good enough.

All of us must be actively engaged in deconstructing generations of systemic racism in Minnesota that have left communities unseen and unheard for far too long.

We have a long road ahead of us and we must walk it together.
