Friend, I have an important update on our response to the powerful earthquake that struck Myanmar and Thailand yesterday:
The death toll is at least 1,600 people and expected to rise as search and rescue efforts continue. Thousands more are injured as first responders race to dig survivors out of the rubble.
Americares is deploying an emergency response team to coordinate with partners on the ground, mobilize critical medical supplies and ensure survivors can get the urgent health care they need – but we can't do this work without you.
The scale of destruction is staggering – entire communities have been reduced to rubble, homes have been leveled and health facilities have been severely damaged or destroyed. With medical needs rising by the hour, our priority is to get critical medicines and supplies to health workers and clinics caring for survivors.
