I have been working hard on the budget. More on that over the coming week. Today, I ask you to acknowledge that in addition to the national issues that we all are so worried about, angered by, and committed to fighting back on, local leadership matters very much.

Think about it: the biggest issues we face in Arlington right now are helping our Federal workers, immigration, and managing our economy through a time of structural change.

On each of these issues, Takis Karantonis is working his heart out locally--engaging with our community, asking the right questions, and leading us forward.

I write to you today asking you to support Takis; he is a community leader and the right choice to lead Arlington through the difficult challenges we face fighting back against this Administration's terrible policies. I ask you to vote for him and join me in contributing to raise $600 more by Monday night for this American immigrant whose work for Arlington is inspiring. Takis Karantonis
Takis is working to convene state and regional leaders to help serve Arlington residents impacted by the often illegal and foolish Federal workforce layoffs. He is engaged with our immigrant communities, consistent with Arlington's commitment to be an inclusive and welcoming place.

And Takis is the right leader on our economy--focused both on economic growth and on making sure our economy is one of opportunity for all of us, including those most in need. He is both practical, supporting bringing Costar to Arlington, and principled, standing with labor throughout his tenure on the Board.

I ask you vote for Takis and, as you are able, to contribute to Takis's campaign in advance of Monday night's fundraising deadline. His leadership on climate and on pedestrian safety are two more examples of many. I ask in part because I know Takis is the right local leader for Arlington's next four years.
