Welcome to our Team Tillis newsletter, where we discuss what Thom has been up to from the campaign trail to Capitol Hill, and everything in between! |

Friend, It was another busy week in Washington! Thom and his fellow Republicans are working hard to get our country back on track. From securing our southern border to fighting for tax cuts that will help families and businesses be successful, we’re getting things done and pursuing an agenda that puts Americans first. But this fight isn’t just in D.C., it’s in North Carolina, too. Thom is already looking toward 2026 because he knows that keeping our Senate majority is an integral part of helping President Trump be successful. We’ll need all hands on deck to help Thom win his bid for reelection in 2026. Keep reading for more updates! -Team Tillis |
At the White House: Tax Priorities
|
The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 was a game-changing piece of legislation that has provided enormous benefits to American businesses and everyday taxpayers—and Thom was proud to vote in favor of it. Since the passage of TCJA, the typical family of four in North Carolina has received a total tax cut of roughly $2,000, while an unmarried single filer has saved about $1,000. Unfortunately, this legislation will expire at the end of the year if Congress does not act, which is why Thom has been working with his Senate GOP colleagues to find the right path forward. He was with President Trump earlier this month to discuss ways to solidify important tax priorities that provide much-needed financial relief to people across the country. As Thom said on X, he is committed to finding ways to help hardworking Americans keep more of their hard-earned dollars—putting less in the government’s hands and more in their pockets. |

Taking Care of North Carolina: Six Months of Recovery
|
This week marked six months since Hurricane Helene hit Western North Carolina, leaving unprecedented devastation. Yet in the face of disaster, North Carolinians have demonstrated remarkable strength and resilience. Thom has fought tirelessly to secure billions of dollars in disaster relief funding to accelerate recovery efforts. In the months since the hurricane, we’ve seen incredible progress: - 7.6 million cubic yards of debris removed
- 1,332 roads reopened
- 272 bridges repaired or replaced
Community leaders, first responders, volunteers, and everyday citizens have come together to move WNC forward, one step at a time. However, much work remains. Here’s what Thom had to say about the anniversary and WNC’s continued recovery: “This week, I met again with local leaders from WNC about the recovery progress, and one thing is clear: WNC needs more resources and less red tape to fully rebuild. I will continue working with President Trump and his administration to make WNC whole again.” → Read more: Asheville Rising: How to help those impacted by Hurricane Helene (ABC News)

Legislative Highlights: Thom Introduces Bill to Safeguard Access to High Quality Cancer Care
|
Thom worked with Gary Peters (D-MI) to introduce the Radiation Oncology Case Rate (ROCR) Value-Based Program Act, bipartisan legislation that would modernize Medicare reimbursement for radiation therapy. Current reimbursement policies reward quantity over quality, making it harder for physicians to provide the tailored, high-quality care cancer patients deserve. This bipartisan bill fixes this by shifting to a fair, bundled payment model that removes incentives for longer treatments, supports innovation, and ensures continued access to world-class care. The ROCR Act modernizes Medicare’s payment system to ensure cancer patients receive the best care possible. |
