John,

It's not a secret: Washington is the Evergreen state. We depend on forests for our own wellbeing, the health of our communities, and they provide shade to cool streams crucial to the Northwest’s salmon.

Right now, we need your help to protect our treasured forests in Washington state. [[link removed]]

Recent federal actions threaten our forests. Your favorite trail, campground, or fishing spot could be at risk.

Now is not the time to intensify clearcutting of our forests and remove our hard-won environmental safeguards. When we don’t thoughtfully steward our forests, our timber communities suffer because of reduced yields, streams warm to temperatures lethal for salmon, carbon is released into the atmosphere, and wildlife have less habitat.

The good news is that Washington voters elected strong state leaders, like Public Lands Commissioner Dave Upthegrove. They have a vison for the future and are working with us to care for our forests so that rural communities, wildlife and the climate all benefit.

I'm ready to join! [[link removed]]

With your support, WCA will work together to steward the shared lands that define our life here in the Evergreen state.

Thanks for standing with us.

Rachel Baker, Forest Program Director
