Hey John, it’s Sarah Koo, the Operations Manager at Leaders We Deserve. I’m so excited about the work we’re all doing together!
I know David emailed you yesterday to introduce our $100,000 fundraising goal. We only have a few days left to reach it before we close the books on this quarter.
One of the things about Leaders We Deserve that’s really inspiring is the strong track record of leadership we’ve already earned in such a short amount of time.
Take a look at what some of the leaders we elected in 2024 are doing now: ⬇️
Last November, we helped reelect Oscar De Los Santos, Arizona’s House Democratic Leader. He recently introduced a housing affordability package to crack down on corporate landlords that are hiking up prices. He has also been a leader in protecting reproductive rights and organizing the fight against the GOP’s deep cuts to funding for services for kids with disabilities.
In Ohio, Republicans are trying to destroy higher education and dismantle efforts to promote diversity, equality, and inclusion. Thankfully, we helped elect Christine Cockley who is on the front lines fighting back in the House.
Dante Pittman, a bold young leader we helped elect in North Carolina, is already advocating for legislation to raise teachers’ pay, introduce more affordable housing options, and provide tax credits for working families.
This is only a taste of what our Leaders We Deserve alumni have been up to. We are proud of the progress that these young people are already making in their states.
That’s why this end-of-quarter fundraising deadline is so important. We need to keep up our momentum so we can elect even more young leaders to office. The best way to meet this moment is to usher in the next generation of leadership.
