Trump is attacking our LGBTQ+ communities. Tell local leaders to defend our civil rights.

Iowa recently became the first state to end civil rights protections for trans people. The governor signed a law removing gender identity from the state civil rights code—marking the first time any state has reversed course on prohibiting discrimination against a protected class.1
This shift will weaken legal safeguards against discrimination and affect the rights of transgender people in Iowa at every turn—from hiring practices to housing to health care access.2 And it comes as a direct result of Trump's federal attacks on the rights of trans Americans.
The Trump administration's intimidation tactics and cruel approach will tear families apart and turn our neighbors against each other. Tell state and local decision-makers to act now to cement protections for the vital civil rights our LGBTQ+ and immigrant neighbors depend on.
Cities and states have long been champions of our civil rights—providing protections and support where the federal government left gaps. But with Trump's relentless attacks on LGBTQ+ and immigrant communities, some states are using his shift in policy as cover to undermine protections for vulnerable communities.
These attacks don't just affect targeted communities—they represent a dangerous erosion of our civil liberties and undermine the rights of ALL Americans. Will you sign the petition to tell local leaders to protect sanctuary communities?
Too many states, empowered by Trump's federal rollbacks, are introducing policies that compromise our civil rights, creating hostile environments for vulnerable communities like immigrants and LGBTQ+ folks.
