Eighteen years ago, I completed my final treatment for breast cancer.

Surviving cancer made me realize I couldn’t put off pursuing the goals I was passionate about, John, and it made me reevaluate the impact that I could make on the world with whatever time I was privileged enough to have.

Now, every day I stand up — for my oath, the Constitution, and my constituents.

And every day, the people of Los Angeles continue to inspire me. I know they’re worth fighting for.
